First off, how's everybody feeling about this new version of Deviantart? At first I had a sort of blind hostility toward it but I think I might be getting used to it. The only thing I'm really having problems with is the new front page, because I thought it was really good before, but the message center is a lot easier to use and I'm excited to try the improved search.
So um...I know it should be a really bad time to be complaining about my homework load but ouch! Some of my IB teachers decided that we needed a summer assignment and I'm feeling swamped! I have to read To Kill a Mockingbird (book title should be underlined, but I'm too lazy to find out how to do that), complete 3-5 substantial works of art and document then in an "investigative workbook", as well as do this completely random history assignment that looked like a big time waster the last time I saw the sheet which was May, before I lost it. This in addition to my futile searching for a job, my desperate attempts to get a driver's license, and the hours on end I spend practicing the harp. My very busy schedule contrasts sharply with my innate desire to do nothing, which augmented by the summer's breeze (ok, that was a little forced), seems to all but shatter all of the very necessary plans I had made. In other words, I am doing next to nothing but sitting around and thinking about how I should be doing something. At very least updating this journal is giving me a sense of movement.
What I have been doing is rather less exciting that what I haven't, including but not limited to getting braces on my bottom teeth, complaining about the braces on my bottom teeth, and watching videos of harpists on YouTube. I have actually been doing reasonably well with keeping up the harp because I have a harp camp that I'll be going to from the 21st to the 26th (exciting!) And since no other harpists auditioned (big surprise there) I'm gonna be in the Spokane Youth Orchestra next year as...yes...principal!
You know what else went well? My AP world history test.
My sister just got back from Africa (Sierra Leone). She went there as part of a college class where you have to do research and write about what you see there. *chomps M&Ms* Her project was on the education of little girls! And I think she really enjoyed herself. But it's nice to have her back, so that I'm not so lonely. I've been really bad about getting together with friends this summer (see how I switched that back to me?) but I'm going to call you all at some point!
This journal writing is actually pretty fun. Although...I'm pretty much just writing this for myself at this point (you might have been able to tell by the massive-ness of the entry). In fact, if you really got through all this, you are a true friend. As for the rest of you...I guess I can't blame you. Though said "rest" wouldn't be reading this anyway right now so I can say what ever I want about them...suckers. But that's enough for me. Love to all of you!
Toodles!

But in the case that I know you, hi!
